The College offers a range of specialist areas and resources in Art and Design.
Professional artists and designers maintain strong links with the industry as they run courses within the College.
Specialist subjects cover Fine Art, Three Dimensional Design, Fashion and Clothing, Textiles, Graphic Design, Photography and Multimedia (Interactive Media).
There is a one-year BTEC Introductory Diploma in Art, Design and Media, a BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design and two-year BTEC National Diploma courses available. In addition, the post ‘A’ Level BTEC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design is also available.
In 2007, 59% of BTEC National Art and Design students started Degree courses and 20% went into work, enabling them to progress into a professional career with skills and knowledge gained at the College.
In 2007, 90% of students completing the BTEC Introductory Diploma in Art, Design and Media progressed onto the next level BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design course.
Around 89% of students from the BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design progressed successfully onto BTEC National Diplomas in 2008.
